My involvement in dog shows began with a chocolate toy poodle I received as a Christmas present. My brother purchased this “show prospect” from a flea market. At the time, I did not even know what a dog show was. My, my how time has changed all of that. Needless to say this little brown poodle was not show material, but she stole my heart (and pocketbook eventually, lol). She certainly changed the course that my life would take. I never thought I would be breeding and showing toy poodles. Before I knew she was not show quality, I went to a dog show to see what it was all about. Shortly thereafter I purchased a black poodle puppy who would become Ch. Helga’s Foxy Black Knight. Foxy went Winners Dog at his very first show and I was hooked. So here I am twenty odd years later. I still love my toy poodles and the dog shows. I have had a few highlights along the way and have made some friends and met some interesting people. I am short on words and hope the information and pictures provided on this website speak more eloquently than I. This is just a glimpse of how wonderful and fun the sport of showing dogs has been. I hope that everyone that views the site enjoys it. It has certainly been a walk down memory lane for me. My sincere thanks to Bev Rangel of Talbot Toy Poodles. Bev, thank you for taking on this task. Without you, this would have never happened. Thank you to JoAnn Hetherwick of Wickfair Toy Poodles for starting the ball rolling by your introduction of Bev. |
